ABOUT

Croíate 
  

Aifric was born and raised in Dublin, before moving to Luxembourg at the age of 16. She began studying for a BSc Environmental Science degree before realising that her passion for movement was calling her to explore dance as a career choice. This lead her to firstly earn a Professional Dance Diploma in Dublin from The College of Dance, following on to graduate with a First Class BA Hons. Degree in Contemporary Dance, from The Place/LCDS - London Contemporary Dance School in 2013. During her degree she also studied at SUNY Purchase College, New York, USA as a semester exchange student.

In the UK she worked with, amongst others, Itamar Serussi, Igor & Moreno, Imogen Knight, Ponciano Almeida and Alex Howard. In 2013 she took part in the Step Up dance project in Ireland, under the guidance of Michael Keegan Dolan/Fabulous Beast.


Since then Aifric have been exploring a varied world of dance performance, choreography, film and pedagogy.

She has performed for choreographers such as Elisabeth Schilling, Jean-Guillaume Weis, Dalija Acin Thelander, Simone Mousset, Hannah Ma and Rhiannon Morgan in theatres such as Grand Théâtre and the Philharmonie Luxembourg. She is also an active member of Lucoda- the Luxembourg Collective of Dance, with which she produces work regularly. 

 

Social outreach is an important aspect of her work. As well as regular teaching at dance schools in Luxembourg and Belgium, she has facilitated community projects and workshops for marginalised people in society with various charities. Her latest work for Lucoda, ‘Fit for a King’, an inclusive dance film, was screened at film festivals in Brazil and the USA.

She hopes to inspire others, bringing joy, kinesthetic discovery and inquiry to their lives.
